1. Introduction

These Terms govern your use of our platform, including offset purchases, subscriptions, accounts, and all associated features. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the service.

2. Services Provided

CarbonDebit.org allows individuals and businesses to:

• Purchase one-time or recurring carbon offset credits ("Carbon Debits")
• Access dashboards, certificates, and impact summaries
• Subscribe to monthly offset plans
• Display “Carbon Responsible” badges for personal or business use

Offsets are linked to verified climate projects sourced through trusted partners.

3. Account Registration

You may create an account to access your dashboard, manage subscriptions, and download certificates. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Keep your login credentials confidential
• Notify us immediately of unauthorized account access

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for misuse or violations of these Terms.

4. Payments & Subscriptions

We use Stripe for all payments. By purchasing from CarbonDebit.org, you agree to:

• Pay the fees as listed at checkout or on the plans page
• Allow recurring charges if you opt into a subscription
• Maintain valid payment information during your subscription

Subscription Management

You may cancel or pause your subscription at any time via your account dashboard. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

Refunds

Due to the nature of carbon offset transactions, we do not offer automatic refunds. However, if you believe a charge was made in error, contact support@carbondebit.org.

5. Environmental Impact & Limitations

We strive to support high-quality, verified carbon offset projects. However, we do not guarantee:

• Any specific environmental outcome
• Legal or tax treatment of your offset
• Regulatory compliance for your region

Carbon Debits are not formal carbon credits under governmental or UN schemes unless otherwise stated.

6. Use of Certificates, Badges, and Branding

By purchasing Carbon Debits, you may use:

• Downloadable certificates for personal/business display
• Shareable digital badges for websites or social media
• Optional public profile (opt-in)

You may not alter, misrepresent, or falsely advertise your offsetting activity. Misuse of CarbonDebit.org branding or materials may result in removal of privileges.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on CarbonDebit.org (including text, visuals, reports, badges, and platform features) is protected by copyright and/or trademark law.

You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, or resell any part of the platform without written permission.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for unlawful or fraudulent purposes
• Attempt to hack, scrape, or interfere with the service
• Use offset purchases for misleading marketing or “greenwashing”
• Resell Carbon Debits without an approved reseller agreement

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations.

9. Disclaimers

CarbonDebit.org is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties or guarantees of uninterrupted service, data accuracy, or environmental effectiveness beyond what is transparently disclosed.

10. Liability Limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Total liability is limited to the amount you paid to us in the past 12 months

This includes, but is not limited to, loss of business, reputation, data, or financial opportunity.

11. Privacy

Use of the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect and protect your data.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective Date” at the top will reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the service after updates implies acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes will be handled through arbitration or the appropriate UK civil courts.
