How is this different from a carbon credit?

Where does my money go?

Your purchase goes directly to funding verified carbon reduction projects like:

  • Tree planting & reforestation
  • Clean cookstove programs

  • Renewable energy systems

We list all supported projects in our Impact Registry.

How do I know the impact is real?

We only partner with certified, trusted offset projects. Each one must meet our three core criteria:

  • Verified impact
  • Transparent reporting
  • Local/community benefit

We're also building our own public registry for full traceability.

How much should I offset?

We offer a quick Carbon Calculator to estimate your footprint based on your lifestyle.

As a reference:

  • A one-way flight from London to New York ≈ 1 ton of CO2
  • One month of average UK driving ≈ 0.3–0.5 tons
  • Monthly home electricity use ≈ 0.2–0.4 tons

You can also choose a pack (Small, Medium, Large) to start simply.

What do I get when I buy a Carbon Debit?

Can I get a subscription?

Yes! Our £4.99/month plan offsets approximately 1 ton of CO2 every month automatically. You’ll receive:

  • A new certificate each month
  • Email summary
  • Dashboard access to track your total impact

You can cancel or pause anytime.

Is this a tax-deductible donation?

Carbon Debits are currently considered a purchase, not a donation. We’re exploring certification for tax-deductible status in the future.

You can make a one-time purchase as a guest, but creating an account lets you:

Is my payment information secure?

Yes. We use Stripe, a PCI-compliant global payment provider. Your payment details are never stored on our servers.

Can I change or cancel my subscription?
